You have something inside you that no one else can bring to the table. Why waste your time trying to be something that you are not?

Being authentic and confident in what your skills and knowledge are attract newcomers to your community. I'm sure we all know those people who walk into a room and exude positive and open energy. Those people aren't the coolest or trendiest in the room, they are simply the most confident! That's what I'm talkin' 'bout Willis.

BRING VALUE — Stand out by creating value for the people around you. I've always looked at this from a marketing standpoint. It is important to build a following and adapt your message to everyday life. You can bring value to everyday conversations by LISTENING, ENCOURAGING, and BUILDING on ideas. The listening is the most important part. You need to be involved in your community to understand your audience!

GET CREATIVE — Creativity can separate you from the rest of the pack. Find your own voice and run with it. I have a friend that inspires me every time I see her, and the inspiration comes simply from her outfits. Her personality is out of this world and she wears it on her sleeve, literally. It is important to not that her style is not contrived. She is not someone who dresses loud, but has nothing to say.

The words value and creative have definitely become buzzwords in the modern era. Everyone thinks they are unique, when in reality they are recycling style and speech. Look deep within yourself and find your own voice! Reread the things you write out loud, and if it doesn't sound like you, restart. When you get dressed in the morning and you look in the mirror, make sure it is you who is staring back. Be 100% YOU, and if you do not know who you are yet, do not try to fake it, you will make yourself sick.
